The Hunt Begins

Greetings everyone!

I went on a short holiday to relax, so I wasn't able to paint this past weekend. Here is a painting I've started though. Another monster. This time in a more developed and thought out illustration with a motion component and another figure. Let the chase begin!

I'll be doing some color adjustment as more of the painting develops. (The color intensity is much higher from this blog preview than what is actually being shown in my photoshop. I'll investigate). There are also some added bonus figures that are in the planning but I haven't fleshed out yet. Stayed tuned for that little surprise ;)

Also, when I get this thing finished, I'll be posting another video showing hte progress of the painting via still images overlayed together. I tried a screenshot video but the program I tested didn't work properly how I wanted it, so I'll keep looking around.

Until next time!

The Things Nightmares Are Made Of

Greetings everyone.

Beware of the shadows on a dark night. Monsters may be lurking within them.

Thanks for checking out my blog. Stop by again later to check out any other monsters or characters that may be in the works.
Until next time.

Weekend sketching

Greetings everyone!

I was informed by my girlfriend to paint more monsters because they turn out quite interesting, so here's a monster I painted this past weekend. The creature is mostly done, with some minor adjustments needed. I still work some more on the background. I'll be going back and forth between this and another painting for a bit.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check in later to catch any updates. Until next time!

2015 First Post - New Hero

Greetings everyone!

Alexander here. For the New Year my parents stopped by to Singapore to hang out with me. It was great to relax a bit. It's been over 2 years since I had seen them.

After the holiday, I've gotten back into painting when I can. Here is a new hero I've been developing. The profile faces will be fully painted eventually, while I intend (at the moment) to leave the full body pose in a sketch phase. I will tinker with it more as the faces develop more.

Also, here's another picture I finished somewhere near the end of December. Another reboot of an old character.

Ok then. Until next time, thanks for stopping by!

Hero Triptych finished, New brushes testing

Greetings everyone!

I've had a long holiday so I've been able to get a lot of things worked on for paintings. Here's the final version of three heroes.

At the same time, I was searching for other brushes to use in photoshop. In time I'll probably make more of my own, but being I'm working on a new version (since late 2014) of Photoshop than I used before and a new computer, I didn't have my old brushes saved. Starting over, I decided to just download some free ones. I've been testing some of them out. Here's a test painting of a bat, using a couple of them. The bat in my photo reference is hanging from a cage above him, but I left that part out.

Until next time!

Christmas Painting, full quality

Greetings to everyone watching, reading and viewing my blog.

I wasn't aware that the quality of the video would be downsized when uploading it to the blog. (My first blog video post). Anywho, here's the full quality photo of the finished painting, without the progress shots. There was also a section that got cut off in the video production thing. Maybe I'll look into better video software than the Windows Movie Maker.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time!

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!

Greetings!

Now, I don't normally do this kind of thing (holiday paintings), but I guess this year ended up being kinda special in that sense. Please enjoy this video of still photo progress of a painting I was working on, ending with the final result.

Until next time.
Enjoy your holiday!
